Saudi Arabia 1200 m³/d Containerized Integrated Domestic Sewage Treatment Project
This project adopts the AO + MBR + MBBR combined process. MBR membrane separation replaces the traditional secondary sedimentation tank, and MBBR carriers are added in the aerobic stage to enhance biochemical efficiency. It adapts to the local high-temperature and sandy environment, with stable effluent quality that meets discharge standards and can be directly reused or legally discharged. Details are as follows:

Pretreatment
Sewage passes through grids, grit chambers and regulating tanks to remove impurities such as hair and sand particles, equalize water quality and flow, creating stable conditions for subsequent biochemical treatment.

Anaerobic Stage (Stage A)
Anaerobic bacteria decompose macromolecular organic matter into small molecules to improve biodegradability. Meanwhile, phosphorus-accumulating organisms release phosphorus, preparing for phosphorus uptake in the subsequent aerobic stage. COD removal rate reaches over 60%.

Aerobic Stage (Stage O)
MBBR suspended biological carriers with large specific surface area are added, enriching a large number of microorganisms such as nitrifying bacteria. Working with activated sludge, they efficiently degrade COD and BOD, and complete ammonia nitrogen nitrification and phosphorus absorption simultaneously. The aeration system not only supplies oxygen but also fluidizes the carriers, enhancing mass transfer efficiency and treatment performance.

MBR Membrane Separation Stage
Submerged PVDF hollow-fiber membrane modules (pore size 0.1–0.4 μm) are used to replace secondary sedimentation tanks for high-efficiency solid-liquid separation, retaining SS, bacteria and part of refractory pollutants.
The effluent has low turbidity and stable quality. MLSS in the membrane tank can reach 8000–10000 mg/L, sludge age (SRT) is extended to more than 30 days, reducing excess sludge production.

Advanced Treatment & Disinfection
The effluent is treated by chemical phosphorus removal and sodium hypochlorite disinfection to further reduce phosphorus content and kill pathogens, ensuring compliance with local reuse or discharge standards in Saudi Arabia.

Intelligent Control
PLC + IoT platform realizes full-process automation. Parameters such as membrane flux, dissolved oxygen and water level are remotely monitored. Automatic backwashing and fault alarm are available, suitable for unattended operation overseas.
