1. What Is a Lamella Clarifier?

2. Working Principle

The lamella clarifier combines coagulation, flocculation, and gravity separation in a single integrated unit. The process flow is as follows:

 1. Chemical dosing — Coagulant and flocculant are dosed to neutralize charges and build flocs.

 2. Mixing & flocculation — Wastewater enters the mixing zone; suspended solids agglomerate into large, settleable flocs.

 3. Inclined plate separation — Water flows upward between parallel plates; flocs settle onto plates and slide down into the sludge hopper.

 4. Clarified effluent — Clear water rises to the outlet weir; sludge is discharged from the bottom hopper.
